İmamoğlu is in Adana province, on the northeastern edge of the Çukurova plain, one of Turkey's most productive agricultural regions. From above, the landscape is made of long rectangular fields and straight irrigation channels, with the town sitting as a denser patch at their centre. To the north, the land begins to rise toward the Taurus foothills.
The town grew as a market and service centre for the surrounding farms, and its layout reflects that role. A main road runs through the centre, with streets branching off in a loose grid. Irrigation canals and farm tracks extend outward in regular lines, giving the wider map an almost geometric character.
