Satpura terrain
The surrounding ridges push roads into curves and split the town into separate clusters. The result is a scattered, organic plan that is easy to recognise.

Jāmai Map Poster & Print
Jāmai, also known as Junnardeo, is in the Chhindwara district of Madhya Pradesh, among the forested ridges of the Satpura range. The town grew with the coalfields of the area. Its map reflects this: the settlement is spread out rather than centred on one core, with housing clusters, mine-related sites and connecting roads scattered along the uneven ground.
Unlike towns on the plains, Jāmai does not have long straight avenues. The roads bend to follow slopes and valleys, and the rail line needed for moving coal threads through the landscape on its own gradient. Between the built-up pockets, the map opens into wooded hillside and farmland, which gives the whole composition a loose, open feel.
A Jāmai map poster captures a place formed by work and terrain rather than by planning. The irregular spread of streets, the rail corridor and the gaps left by the hills create a distinctive pattern. For anyone who has lived in this part of the Satpura country, it will be immediately familiar.

Rail corridor
A railway line winds through the area and links the town to the wider coalfield. It forms a long, smooth line across the poster.
Mining settlements
Housing areas associated with the collieries appear as distinct, regularly laid-out pockets. They sit apart from the town's more organic streets.

Many families moved to Jāmai for work in the coalfields, and many later moved away again. A map of the town brings back colony names, school routes and hillside roads in a form that can hang anywhere.
You can edit the title, subtitle and coordinates, perhaps to Junnardeo or the name of a colony, and pick from five styles including Blueprint and Noir. The HD download covers six print sizes for $9.
