This Jiangxi is a town in southeastern Gansu province, in the hilly country near the borders with Shaanxi and Sichuan. It should not be confused with the province of the same name in southern China. Here the terrain is folded and steep, and the map shows a settlement pressed into the valley floor, with roads following the watercourses.
