Kadamakudi Map Poster & Print
Kadamakudi is a group of small islands in the backwaters of Vembanad Lake, just north of Kochi in Kerala. Channels of brackish water separate the islands, and the land is low and flat, much of it given over to paddy fields and fish farming. Roads and bridges now connect several islands with the mainland.
Kadamakudi is known for pokkali farming, a traditional method of growing salt-tolerant rice in the coastal wetlands, alternating with prawn and fish cultivation. The islands have also drawn visitors seeking a quiet backwater setting close to the city, especially at sunrise over the water.
A Kadamakudi map poster is built from water and land in near-equal measure. The islands' irregular outlines, the narrow channels between them and the few roads crossing on causeways and bridges form a delicate, almost abstract composition. It is one of the more unusual maps you can hang, and one of the most peaceful.

Backwater channels
Narrow waterways wind between the islands, carrying the eye across the map and dividing the land into distinct parts.
Causeway roads
A few roads cross the water on bridges and causeways, linking the islands to the mainland and drawing thin, deliberate lines across the channels.
