Kākori Map Poster & Print
Kākori lies just west of Lucknow in Uttar Pradesh, on the flat plains of the Ganges basin. From above, the town is a close cluster of old lanes and houses surrounded by fields and orchards, with the main roads and the railway to Lucknow running nearby.
The town has a place in Indian history. In August 1925 revolutionaries of the independence movement stopped a train near Kākori and seized the government money it was carrying, an event now remembered as the Kakori train action. The town has also given its name to the Kakori kebab, a well-known dish of Awadhi cuisine.
A Kākori map poster shows the town at a scale where its shape stands out: a dense historic centre, winding lanes, and the railway running past on its way into the city. The fields and orchards around it are simplified into open space, which gives the town a clear, compact presence in the frame.

Historic town lanes
The core of Kākori is a tight network of narrow, irregular lanes, typical of old towns in Awadh, forming the densest part of the poster.
Orchards and fields
The flat land around the town is covered with fields and orchards. In monochrome, it becomes a quiet backdrop that highlights the settlement.
