The airport's long runway and taxiways form the largest and most regular shape on the map, a clear line running through the coastal plain.

Katunayaka Map Poster & Print
Katunayaka lies on the west coast of Sri Lanka, north of Colombo. Its map is dominated by one large shape, the runway and grounds of Bandaranaike International Airport, the country's main gateway. Around it, small lanes wind through closely built neighbourhoods. The Negombo lagoon and coast lie close by to the west, and the flat coastal land is crossed by roads linking the capital with the northwest.
Beyond the airport, Katunayaka is known for its export processing zone, one of the first in Sri Lanka. It remains an important centre for garment manufacturing and other industries. The zone's factories and roads form another large planned block next to the town's more informal street pattern. The expressway from Colombo passes nearby, and most visitors to the island arrive through this town.
A Katunayaka map poster centres on the geometry of the airport, with its long runway and taxiways drawn as clean lines. Around it lies an irregular web of residential lanes. Water and the coastline complete the picture on the western side. For a place many people know mostly as an arrival point, the map shows a denser and more lived-in town.

Export processing zone
The industrial zone near the airport has broad planned plots and straight roads, very different from the small, winding lanes of the surrounding neighbourhoods.
Lagoon and coast
To the west, the Negombo lagoon and the Indian Ocean shore bring water into the frame and give the flat land a natural edge.

A Katunayaka poster can mark a homecoming, a first arrival in Sri Lanka, or years of work in the town itself. For frequent travellers and aviation lovers, the runway at its centre gives the map a strong, graphic focus.
Add a flight date, a name or a line of your own to the title and subtitle, and adjust the coordinates. Choose from Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. HD files cost $9, and matte prints are available with an optional wooden frame.
