Kauhava Map Poster & Print
Kauhava is a town in South Ostrobothnia, in western Finland, on the wide, flat plains typical of the region. The Lapua River runs through it, and from above the town is a long cluster of streets along the river, with open fields in long parallel strips around it.
The town has long been known for its puukko knives, and it was for decades the home of the Finnish Air Force Academy before the academy moved to Tikkakoski in 2014. The former air base remains a large, distinctive feature on the map, with its runway drawn as a precise straight line.
