Mountain streams
Watercourses running down from the Meru slopes cross the area in thin, roughly parallel lines. They give the map a sense of direction and gradient.

Kingori Map Poster & Print
Kingori lies in the Arusha region of northern Tanzania, east of Arusha town, on the ground that slopes down from Mount Meru toward the plains in the direction of Kilimanjaro. From above it does not look like a compact town. Homesteads, small farms and tracks spread across the land, and denser clusters form along the roads.
The shape of the map comes mainly from water and terrain. Streams coming off the mountain cut shallow lines across the slope, and paths and lanes tend to follow or cross them at intervals. Fields and garden plots fill the spaces between. In black and white the result is an open, lightly drawn pattern rather than a tight urban grid.
A Kingori map poster suits people who know the area from daily life, from farming, or from travel between Arusha and Moshi. Settlements like this are often defined by their surroundings more than by any single building. The map shows that clearly, with a network of routes scattered across the foothills of one of East Africa's great volcanic landscapes.

Road-side clusters
Houses and shops gather along the main roads, forming the densest parts of the map. Quieter tracks branch off into the surrounding farmland.
Farm tracks
A fine web of lanes and footpaths links homesteads and fields. It creates a delicate, irregular texture that looks especially good in the Paper and Sand styles.
