Klatovy Map Poster & Print
Klatovy is a historic town in the Plzeň Region of the Czech Republic, in southwestern Bohemia, and often called the gateway to the Šumava mountains. It was founded in the thirteenth century as a royal town, and its medieval plan is still easy to read from above: a regular grid of streets around a large central square.
Parts of the old fortifications survive, and the outline of the former walls shows as a clear ring around the historic core. The Black Tower rises beside the town hall, and the Jesuit church nearby is known for its catacombs. Klatovy is also known for growing carnations, a tradition dating back centuries.
A Klatovy map poster shows a planned medieval town at its clearest. The tight grid and the square at its centre, the ring of the old walls, and the looser growth beyond make a layered, legible composition that suits anyone who knows western Bohemia.

Line of the walls
Surviving fortifications and the path of the former walls form a ring around the old town, separating the medieval core from later growth.
Black Tower and square
The large central square, overlooked by the Black Tower and the Jesuit church, forms the open heart of the map where all main streets converge.

Klatovy is a town people love for its square, its towers and its closeness to the Šumava forests. A map of the medieval grid is a meaningful keepsake for those who grew up here, studied here or set off from here into the mountains.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates, perhaps with a Czech phrase, a wedding date or a family name. Five styles are available: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Paper suits the historic plan particularly well.
