Darvel Bay shoreline
The town's southern edge is the sea. The coastline curves along Darvel Bay and leaves a wide open area of water that anchors the whole composition.

Lahad Datu Map Poster & Print
Lahad Datu lies on the east coast of Sabah, on the northern shore of Darvel Bay. From above, the coastline sets the shape of the town. The streets gather along the waterfront, a harbour area pushes out toward the sea, and residential districts climb gently inland. Past the town, the road network spreads out into the broad plantation landscape that covers much of eastern Sabah.
The town is an important centre for the region's oil palm industry, and its port and airport serve a wide hinterland. It is also the usual starting point for the Danum Valley Conservation Area, one of the best-known stretches of lowland rainforest in Borneo. So the town on the map is a busy coastal settlement at the meeting point of sea, farmland and forest.
A Lahad Datu map poster reduces all of this to its outlines: the long line of the bay, the fine grid of the town centre, and the roads heading west and north. The white of the water makes a strong counterweight to the dense streets, which gives the print a natural balance. It's a fitting piece for anyone who knows this corner of Borneo.

Waterfront centre
The busiest streets sit close to the shore, where the town grew around its harbour. On the map this area forms the tightest cluster of blocks and lanes.
Roads inland
Main roads lead away from the coast toward plantations, other Sabah towns and the forest reserves beyond. They appear as long lines that stretch the map's reach inland.

Lahad Datu means something to people who grew up on Sabah's east coast, to plantation and port workers and to travellers who passed through on the way to Danum Valley. The bay and street grid make a clear, handsome print.
The title, subtitle and coordinates line can all be personalised, so you can add a name, a date or a short note. Five styles are available: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. The HD digital files cost $9, and printed posters ship from partners in more than 30 countries.
