Ligezhuang lies on the low coastal plain in the Qingdao region, in the orbit of Jiaozhou and the northern shore of Jiaozhou Bay. The land is flat and crossed by small rivers and drainage channels heading for the bay. From above, the older village streets show a fine, tight pattern. Wider modern roads and large factory plots cut through them.
In recent decades this part of Qingdao has changed quickly. New transport links and industrial areas have spread across what was mostly farmland. Maps of Ligezhuang show that change clearly.
