Sackville Drive
The main commercial road runs through the community like a spine, with most residential neighbourhoods branching off it in loops and crescents.

Lower Sackville Map Poster & Print
Lower Sackville is a suburban community in the Halifax Regional Municipality, northwest of Halifax and Bedford. Its map is shaped by one long commercial artery, Sackville Drive, from which residential streets branch off in loops, crescents and dead ends. It is the classic layout of a postwar North American suburb, drawn on a landscape of low hills and small lakes.
The Sackville River and the Little Sackville River wind through the community, and their course explains why some streets bend where they do. Highway 101 runs along one side, connecting the area to Halifax and to the Annapolis Valley beyond, and the edges of the map dissolve into forest and water in the way typical of Nova Scotia.
A Lower Sackville map poster shows this organic pattern clearly: tight clusters of curving streets, the straight line of the main drive, and patches of lakes and woodland in between. It is a practical, lived-in map, the kind that people recognise immediately because it holds their own street, school run and route to the highway.

Two rivers
The Sackville River and the Little Sackville River curve through the area, cutting across the suburban grid and adding natural lines to the map.
Lakes and woodland
Small lakes and wooded patches sit around the edges of the built-up area, a reminder of the Nova Scotia landscape the suburbs were carved from.
