Madīnat ‘Īsá Map Poster & Print
Madīnat ‘Īsá, often called Isa Town, lies in the centre of Bahrain's main island. It was planned from the 1960s as a new residential town and named after Sheikh Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa, the ruler of the time. That origin is clear from above: the neighbourhoods follow a deliberate, orderly layout rather than the winding lanes of Bahrain's older settlements.
The map is divided into repeating residential blocks, each with its own internal streets. Wide arterial roads with large roundabouts separate the neighbourhoods. Schools, mosques and public buildings sit in open plots between the blocks. The whole town is enclosed by major highways that connect it to Manama and to the rest of the island.
A Madīnat ‘Īsá map poster shows a clear example of mid-century Gulf planning, with modular blocks, generous road space and a strong overall outline. For families who were among the town's early residents, or who grew up in its neighbourhoods later, the map shows a place that was designed from the start around daily family life.

Roundabout arteries
Broad main roads and large roundabouts divide the neighbourhoods, forming bold lines and circles that give the map a strong geometric structure.
Highway frame
Major highways run around the town and connect it to Manama and the rest of Bahrain, framing the composition with a clear outer edge.

For Bahraini families with roots here and for expatriates who lived in Isa Town, the map records the neighbourhood where many childhood years were spent. Its planned geometry also makes a strong design piece.
