Mai Map Poster & Print
Mai, more commonly written Mai Mahiu or Maai Mahiu, is a small town in Nakuru County, on the floor of Kenya's Great Rift Valley. This map centres slightly differently, but the landscape is the same: a compact cluster of streets and buildings on flat ground, with the high escarpment rising steeply to the east.
A well-known landmark nearby is the small chapel on the escarpment road, built by Italian prisoners of war during the Second World War while they worked on the road down into the valley. It remains a point of interest for travellers passing along the route.
A Mai map poster focuses on the town's position between highland and valley. The straight roads crossing the plain meet the winding escarpment roads, and the settlement sits where they come together. The clean black-and-white rendering highlights the contrast between these two landscapes.

Compact settlement
The town itself is small and dense, with shops and homes concentrated around the main roads before thinning into farmland.
Rift Valley plain
Wide, flat land surrounds the town, crossed by straight roads and tracks that stretch toward the distant hills and volcanoes of the valley.

A map of Mai marks a place many people pass through and some call home, at the meeting point of the escarpment and the Rift Valley floor. It is a simple, meaningful print for anyone who knows this road.
Personalise the title, for example as Mai or Mai Mahiu, along with a subtitle and coordinates. Choose one of five styles, then download HD files for $9 or order a printed poster, with an optional wooden frame.
