Mawlaik Map Poster & Print
Mawlaik lies on the Chindwin River in the Sagaing Region of Myanmar. The river is the main feature of the map: the town stretches along its bank, with streets running parallel to the water and short lanes leading down to it. Behind the town, the land rises into wooded hills.
The Chindwin is one of Myanmar's major rivers and has long served as a route for travel and trade through the northwest of the country. Mawlaik grew as a river town and served as an administrative centre during the colonial period. Much of the surrounding land is forested and sparsely settled.
A Mawlaik map poster shows a town that faces its river. The long, gentle curve of the Chindwin, the line of streets beside it and the empty, hilly land beyond give the map a calm, horizontal balance. It is a modest, clear image for anyone connected to this part of Myanmar.

Riverbank streets
The town's main streets run parallel to the river, giving Mawlaik a long, narrow form that follows the water rather than spreading inland.
Wooded hills
Forested hills rise behind the town, leaving wide, quiet space on the map beyond the last streets.
