Colonial checkerboard
Square blocks repeat in every direction from the central plaza. The grid is among the most regular patterns you can put on a poster.

Melipilla Map Poster & Print
Melipilla lies southwest of Santiago in Chile's central valley, near the Maipo River, on the road that leads to the port of San Antonio. It was founded in 1742 as the Villa de San José de Logroño, and it has served as the market centre for the surrounding farming country ever since.
Like many Spanish colonial towns, Melipilla was laid out on a regular grid around a central Plaza de Armas. That checkerboard is still clear on the map. Square blocks repeat outward from the plaza, and newer neighbourhoods extend the pattern with slightly looser streets.
Beyond the town, the landscape becomes a patchwork of fields, orchards and rural roads. The Maipo runs to the south, and the coastal hills rise to the west. A Melipilla map poster frames the tidy colonial grid within the broad agricultural valley that has always supported it.

Plaza de Armas
The main square sits at the heart of the grid. On the map it is a small open space that orients the whole town.
Maipo valley farmland
Fields and orchards surround the town, and the Maipo River runs to the south. The open land gives the dense grid a calm frame.
