Mugalivakkam Map Poster & Print
Mugalivakkam is one of the neighbourhoods that have filled in Chennai's western edge over recent decades. Former village land became residential layouts, and from above the pattern shows it. Blocks of short, fairly regular streets sit side by side, each laid out at a slightly different angle, and they are stitched together by a few main roads.
The area lies in the zone between the city's older core and its growing suburbs toward Porur and beyond. Like much of this part of Chennai, it is low and flat, and small water bodies and drainage channels appear among the housing. They are reminders of the tanks and wetlands that once covered this ground.
A Mugalivakkam map poster captures a neighbourhood at domestic scale: the layout where a family bought its first home, the lane to school, the main road that connects to the rest of the city. It is a map of everyday Chennai, drawn with care and precision.

Connecting roads
A few wider roads run through the neighbourhood, linking the layouts to one another and to the arterial routes toward Porur and central Chennai.
Remnant water bodies
Scattered tanks and drainage channels break up the housing, and they are traces of the wetland landscape that preceded the suburbs.
