Namminikara is a village in the Thrissur district of central Kerala, in the low, green coastal plain between the Arabian Sea and the foothills. The land is flat and very wet. From above, it forms a patchwork of paddy fields, coconut plantations, ponds and small canals, with houses scattered along the network of roads.
As in much of Kerala, there is no single compact centre. Homes line the roads and lanes in long ribbons, often set back among trees, so that village and countryside blend into one another. Temples, schools and small junctions act as local focal points.
