Planned layout
Nīlokheri was designed as a whole in the late 1940s, and its regular blocks and straight streets still read clearly as a deliberate plan.

Nīlokheri Map Poster & Print
Nīlokheri is a town in Karnal district, Haryana, on the Grand Trunk Road between Karnal and Kurukshetra. It was created shortly after Partition in 1947 as a planned township to resettle refugees from West Punjab. It was conceived as a model of self-reliant community development, with training centres, workshops and housing laid out together from the start.
That origin is still visible from above. Unlike older market towns with tangled lanes, Nīlokheri has a more regular street pattern, with rectangular blocks, straighter roads and clearly defined areas for housing and institutions. The Grand Trunk Road runs alongside as a broad, straight line, carrying traffic between Delhi and Punjab and giving the town a firm edge.
A Nīlokheri map poster is a small piece of the history of modern India: a town drawn on paper before it was built, and still readable as a plan. Set in the flat, fertile plain of Haryana and surrounded by fields, it makes a clean, well-balanced composition in any of the five styles.

Grand Trunk Road
The historic highway, now part of the main route from Delhi to Punjab, runs beside the town as a strong, straight line across the map.
Haryana farmland
Level, intensively cultivated land surrounds the town on every side, shown as open space crossed by rural roads that frame the planned core cleanly.

For families whose grandparents arrived in Nīlokheri after Partition, the town's plan is part of their own story. A poster of its streets is a way of honouring that history, whether it hangs in Haryana or in a home abroad.
Add a title such as the family name, a subtitle with the year of arrival and your own coordinates line. Choose among Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand, then order a printed matte poster or download the HD files for $9.
