Ijse valley
The stream's shallow valley guides the main roads, and the settlement follows it in a soft, curving line that runs across the frame.

Overijse Map Poster & Print
Overijse is in Flemish Brabant, just southeast of Brussels, where the city gives way to rolling countryside. The municipality takes its name from the Ijse, a small stream that runs through a valley here. Its western side borders the Sonian Forest, the large beech forest that also runs up to the edge of the capital.
On a map Overijse looks like several villages loosely joined together, not one town. Roads follow the valley floor and then climb the slopes between hamlets, so the street pattern is winding, not a grid. Large empty areas mark woodland and farmland, and a motorway passes along one side, a straight line against the curving local roads.
The area has a long tradition of growing table grapes in glasshouses, and the town still holds a yearly grape festival. An Overijse map poster shows a place where the edge of the capital meets the countryside, and it suits residents, Brussels commuters who chose the green side, and anyone who has cycled through the Ijse valley.

Sonian Forest edge
To the west the street pattern stops at the forest, leaving a large quiet area that sets the town clearly apart from Brussels.
Scattered village cores
Separate village centres appear as small clusters of streets joined by country lanes, like several small maps sharing one sheet.

Overijse suits people who know it as home, as a weekend base close to the forest, or as the quieter side of a Brussels working life. The map shows its village-by-village structure clearly.
You can personalise the title and subtitle in Dutch, French or English and add the coordinates of your street. Choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand, and download 300 DPI files for $9 or order a matte print.
