Pallikaranai Map Poster & Print
Pallikaranai lies in the southern part of Chennai, between the older suburbs near Velachery and the IT corridor along the Old Mahabalipuram Road. On a map the most striking feature is the marsh: a wide, irregular open space that the surrounding streets curve around and stop at.
The Pallikaranai marshland is one of the few surviving natural wetlands in the Chennai area. It absorbs monsoon floodwater and supports many resident and migratory birds, and part of it is now protected. Around it, housing has grown quickly as the city pushed south.
A Pallikaranai map poster shows that tension with unusual clarity. Tight residential lanes and main roads fill one part of the frame, while the wetland leaves a large, calm gap that gives the composition its balance. It is a very Chennai kind of map.

Southern growth
Dense residential streets surround the marsh on several sides, showing how quickly Chennai's southern suburbs have spread into former open land.
Near the IT corridor
Pallikaranai lies close to the Old Mahabalipuram Road technology corridor, and main roads link the neighbourhood with offices and campuses to the east.

Many people in Pallikaranai have made their first home here while working in south Chennai. A map of the neighbourhood marks that moment, from a first flat near the marsh to a family house on a quiet lane.
Add your street name, a date or the name of your family to the title and subtitle, and pick one of five styles. Download the HD files for $9 or order a printed poster, framed if you like.
