Phumĭ Âmpĭl Leu Map Poster & Print
Phumĭ Âmpĭl Leu is a community in Kampong Cham province, in Cambodia's central lowlands, a region of flat farmland shaped by the Mekong and its seasonal floods. Like many Cambodian villages, it grows along roads rather than around a square, and on a map it appears as a line of settlement set among fields.
Houses and gardens line the main road, often set back among trees, while the land behind them opens into rice paddies divided by low embankments. Smaller tracks run off at right angles to reach outlying houses and fields, and water channels and ponds add a scatter of small shapes to the flat terrain.
A Phumĭ Âmpĭl Leu map poster renders that rural arrangement as a clean, spare image: a few strong lines of road, a band of houses along them, and open land all around. It's the kind of place that rarely gets a map of its own.

Paddy land
Rice fields spread out behind the houses, divided by low embankments. On the poster they appear as open, quiet space.
Side tracks
Short tracks branch off the main road towards fields and outlying homes. They add a simple rhythm of perpendicular lines.
