Lee Valley reservoirs
Large reservoirs sit to the east, their smooth outlines forming the biggest shapes on the map and a calm counterweight to the dense streets.

Ponders End Map Poster & Print
Ponders End, in the London Borough of Enfield, is structured by a strong east-west contrast. To the west, terraced streets and residential blocks line up close to the Hertford Road. To the east, the land drops into the Lee Valley, where the Lee Navigation, the River Lea and large reservoirs replace housing with water. The railway line runs north-south between them, drawing a clean dividing edge across the map.
The area has a long industrial past. Factories grew up here in the late nineteenth and twentieth centuries, and Ponders End was an early centre of the electrical industry, with works that produced lamps and valves. Much of the old industrial land by the valley has since been turned into business parks, open space and walking routes.
A Ponders End map poster makes the most of this geography. The dense street pattern in the west and the smooth, wide shapes of the reservoirs in the east create a striking composition in black and white. For people who live nearby, it is a precise, recognisable portrait of a working corner of London.

Lee Navigation
The canalised navigation runs through the valley, with towpaths and locks tracing long straight lines parallel to the railway.
Terraced streets
West of the railway, closely spaced terraces and side roads create a fine, regular grain typical of outer London suburbs.

Ponders End is the kind of place people call home for years without ever seeing it drawn with care. A map poster turns local streets, the canal walk and the reservoir edges into something worth framing.
You can change the title and subtitle and add coordinates, then choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Buy the HD files for $9, with six sizes in PNG and PDF, or order a printed poster.
