Zagros ridges
Long, parallel mountain ridges frame the valley. On the map they give the composition a clear diagonal direction and a dramatic setting.

Qīr Map Poster & Print
Qīr lies in the south of Fars province in Iran, in a broad valley among the folded ridges of the Zagros Mountains. The ridges run in long parallel lines from north-west to south-east, and the town sits on the valley floor between them. From above, the contrast is striking: a compact settlement and farmland set against bare, dry slopes.
In April 1972 a severe earthquake struck the area and destroyed much of the town. Qīr was rebuilt afterwards, and much of its present street pattern dates from that reconstruction. A Qīr map poster shows the town's compact layout alongside the fields and orchards that surround it and the ridges that frame the valley.
Beyond the town, roads run along the valley towards neighbouring settlements, following the grain of the mountains. The landscape gives the map a strong sense of direction, with long ridges, straight roads and cultivated land between them.

Rebuilt town
Much of the town was rebuilt after the 1972 earthquake. Its compact street pattern forms the centre of the poster, surrounded by farmland.
Valley farmland
Fields and orchards spread across the valley floor around the town. They soften the edges of the map and show where the land is cultivated.

Qīr is a place of deep family roots for many people now living in Shiraz, Tehran or abroad. A map of the town and its valley is a quiet, personal reminder of home, and a meaningful gift for older relatives.
Add a family name, a date or a line in Persian or English to the title and subtitle, and keep or adjust the coordinates line. Sand and Paper suit the dry valley setting, although all five styles are available.
