Rāhuri Map Poster & Print
Rāhuri lies in Ahmednagar district in western Maharashtra, on the Deccan plateau near the Mula river. It is best known as the home of Mahatma Phule Krishi Vidyapeeth, one of the state's agricultural universities. On the map, the campus and its research farms cover a very large area, and that area is quite distinct from the dense streets of the old town.
The town itself is compact. Narrow lanes surround a market area, and main roads lead towards Ahmednagar and Shirdi. Outside the centre, the university grounds are laid out in large, regular plots divided by straight farm roads. The river and the irrigated land around it add curves and open space to the view, and the Mula dam lies upstream.
