Riemst Map Poster & Print
Riemst is not a single town but a municipality of villages spread across a gently rolling plateau in the far east of Flanders, right against the Dutch border near Maastricht. On a map it reads as several small cores joined by country roads, surrounded by large open fields that give the drawing plenty of white space.
The ground here is soft marl, a limestone that has been quarried for centuries, leaving underground galleries and caves around Kanne. The Albert Canal slices through the eastern side in a deep, straight cutting, and its bridges at Vroenhoven and Veldwezelt became known in May 1940, when they were among the first targets of the German invasion of Belgium.
A Riemst map poster captures that contrast: organic village streets and field boundaries on one side, the engineered line of the canal on the other. The Jeker valley adds a winding thread of green near the southern edge, softening the plateau.

Village cores
Several separate settlements sit apart from each other, each with its own knot of streets, linked by roads across open farmland.
Border with Maastricht
The eastern edge meets the Netherlands, and the outskirts of Maastricht begin just beyond, so the poster frame sits at a quiet international seam.

Riemst suits people who grew up in one of its villages, walked its marl caves, or cycle its plateau. The map shows a landscape rather than a city, which makes a calm, open composition on a wall.
Add your own title, a subtitle naming the village that matters to you, a date and coordinates. Choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand to match the room.
