Saladillo Map Poster & Print
Saladillo sits in the centre of Buenos Aires province, on the flat pampas where towns were laid out with a ruler. The map shows a clean grid of square blocks radiating from a central plaza, with streets running in two perpendicular directions until they meet the edge of town and turn into rural roads. There is almost no topography to bend the pattern, so the geometry comes through clearly.
The town's name refers to the brackish streams of the area, and low, slow-moving watercourses cross the surrounding countryside. Railway lines approach from the northeast and continue into the interior, and National Route 205 links Saladillo with Buenos Aires and with the towns further southwest. On the map these diagonals and curves stand out against the rigid grid.
Beyond the urban edge the land is divided into large rectangular fields for grain and cattle, echoing the town's own blocks at a much larger scale. A Saladillo map poster captures that relationship between town and countryside, a small ordered core set into a wide and equally ordered landscape.

Route 205
The national highway passes the town on its way across the province, drawing a long line that contrasts with the right angles of the streets.
Rail approach
Railway tracks run into Saladillo at an angle to the grid, a reminder of how many pampas towns grew around a station and its yards.
