San Rafael Oriente Map Poster & Print
San Rafael Oriente is a municipality in San Miguel department, in eastern El Salvador. The town has a traditional Central American layout. Its streets form a compact grid around a central plaza and church, and the blocks thin out into farmland and scattered homes toward the edges.
The landscape around it is volcanic. The San Miguel volcano, also called Chaparrastique, rises to the northeast and is one of the most active in the country. On a detailed map the land's topography is less visible than the roads, but the rural tracks and field divisions still follow the gentle slopes of the region.
A San Rafael Oriente map poster is quiet and clearly ordered. The grid, the plaza and the roads leaving town make an easily readable composition. For Salvadorans abroad, especially those from the east of the country, it is a precise reminder of the streets around the family home.

Compact grid
Straight streets and regular blocks make up the town. At poster scale they form a neat, balanced pattern at the centre of the print.
Volcanic countryside
Farm roads and paths extend into the countryside below the San Miguel volcano, softening the edges of the grid.
