Valley road grid
Straight country roads divide the surrounding land into large square sections, and the town grid fits neatly inside this wider geometry.

Sanger Map Poster & Print
Sanger is a city in Fresno County, California, in the agricultural heart of the San Joaquin Valley. On a map it is a clear, rectilinear town, a grid of streets set within the larger grid of country roads that divides the valley into square sections. Orchards and vineyards press right up to the edges of town.
Sanger is known as the Nation's Christmas Tree City, a title linked to the General Grant tree in Kings Canyon National Park, which serves as the national Christmas tree. A Sanger map poster shows the town's compact centre, its railway line and its neighbourhoods set within the farmland that supports the local economy.
To the east, the Kings River flows out of the Sierra Nevada foothills. Its winding channel is one of the few curving lines in an otherwise geometric landscape. In black and white the difference between the grid and the river becomes a central part of the composition.

Orchard edges
Orchards and vineyards reach right to the city limits, so the edge between town and farmland is sharp and easy to read.
Kings River nearby
The Kings River winds out of the foothills east of town, a curving natural line set against the straight roads of the valley.
