Village grid
Streets of low houses with courtyards and garden plots form a largely regular layout. Together they give the map a fine, even texture across the settlement.

Saray Map Poster & Print
Saray is a settlement in the Absheron District of Azerbaijan, on the peninsula that reaches into the Caspian Sea around Baku. It lies inland from the coast, between the capital and the industrial city of Sumqayit. The landscape is flat and sparse, shaped by a dry climate, with little natural shade.
On a map, Saray is made up of low-rise neighbourhoods laid out in a mostly regular pattern, with plots, gardens and walled courtyards typical of Absheron villages. Main roads link it to Baku and Sumqayit, and the highways crossing the peninsula frame the settlement on several sides.
Around it the land opens into bare ground and scattered development, the pattern found across much of the peninsula. A Saray map poster keeps the focus on the settlement itself: the modest grid of its streets and the roads tying it to the region, framed by the openness of the Absheron landscape.

Link roads
Main roads connect Saray with Baku to the south-east and Sumqayit to the north. They are drawn as strong lines that place the settlement within the wider peninsula.
Open Absheron land
Beyond the houses, the peninsula's dry, flat terrain spreads out with very little cover. The wide empty space lets the settlement stand out clearly on the map.

For people whose families come from Saray, the settlement is tied to courtyards, relatives and summers on the peninsula. A map of its streets is a calm and personal reminder of home, as suited to an apartment in Baku as to a flat abroad.
Add names, a date or coordinates in the title, subtitle and coordinates line, and choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. The $9 download includes 300 DPI PNG and PDF files in six sizes, and printed matte posters are available too.
