Sebt Gzoula lies in the Safi province of Morocco, in the flat agricultural country east of the Atlantic port of Safi. Its name refers to the Saturday souk (sebt means Saturday), and the town grew as a trading point for the surrounding farmland. That role still shows on the map in the way several roads converge on the centre.
The urban area is compact. A central core of dense streets gives way to newer districts with more regular blocks and wider roads. Beyond the edge, fields and rural tracks spread across the plain in a loose patchwork and reach toward nearby villages and the coast.
