Sint-Truiden Map Poster & Print
Sint-Truiden is a historic town in the province of Limburg and the centre of Haspengouw, the fruit-growing region of eastern Flanders. A ring road follows the line of the medieval ramparts around the old core, so on a map the centre is a clearly bounded oval. Streets converge on the Grote Markt, one of the largest market squares in Belgium.
The town grew around the abbey founded by Saint Trudo in the seventh century and still carries his name. Its town hall belfry and its béguinage both belong to UNESCO World Heritage listings, and church towers rise throughout the centre. Beyond the ring, orchards of apples, pears and cherries cover gently rolling land.
A Sint-Truiden map poster shows the classic shape of a Flemish walled town: a ring, a great square, radiating roads and dense blocks between them. A wider frame also takes in the rural pattern of Haspengouw, with villages set among orchards. In black and white, the contrast between the tight centre and the open countryside is especially clear.

Ring boulevard
The ring road follows the course of the former ramparts, drawing a smooth closed loop that neatly defines the historic centre.
Begijnhof
The béguinage sits near the edge of the old town, a quiet, enclosed grouping of houses around a courtyard and church that forms a distinct shape on the plan.
