Skalica Map Poster & Print
Skalica is in the far west of Slovakia, close to the Czech border and the Morava River. Its map has a clearly legible historic core, a tight ring of streets and squares that follows the line of the old town fortifications, with newer districts spreading out to the south and east.
The town is known for the Romanesque rotunda of St George, one of the oldest buildings in the region, and for the Skalický trdelník, a pastry protected by a European geographical indication. The surrounding hills are planted with vineyards, and wine has long been part of local life.
A Skalica map poster brings out the contrast between the dense medieval centre and the open land around it: vineyards to one side, the flat Morava floodplain to the other, and roads fanning out towards the neighbouring villages and across the border. It is a small town with a well-defined shape.

To the west, the land flattens towards the Morava River and the Czech border, a wide, lightly developed area crossed by drainage channels and field roads.
Vineyard slopes
Hills around the town are covered with vineyards laid out in fine parallel rows, which give the outskirts a distinctive striped texture.
