Tallang-dong Map Poster & Print
Tallang-dong is part of the urban area of Jeju City, on the northern side of Jeju Island, off the southern coast of the Korean peninsula. As the suffix dong suggests, it is an urban neighbourhood. On a map it is part of the city's continuous fabric: a mix of residential blocks, local streets and main roads linking it to the rest of Jeju.
The island is unusual to map. Jeju is volcanic and built around Hallasan, the highest mountain in South Korea, and the land rises steadily from the coast toward its summit. Jeju City spreads over the lower slopes, so its street network sits between the sea on one side and the rising ground on the other.
A Tallang-dong map poster puts the neighbourhood at the centre and lets the surrounding city fill the frame. Wider views bring in the northern coastline. Jeju's volcanic island and lava tubes are listed by UNESCO as World Natural Heritage, but the focus here is closer to home: the streets people actually live on.

Slope toward Hallasan
South of the city the land rises toward the mountain, and the streets gradually thin. This gives the poster a sense of direction from coast to interior.
Northern coastline
In wider framings the island's northern shore runs across the top of the poster. Its irregular volcanic edge contrasts with the urban grid below.
