Tazoult-Lambese Map Poster & Print
Tazoult-Lambese lies a short distance southeast of Batna in north-eastern Algeria, on high ground below the Aurès mountains. The modern town has a simple layout of straight streets and blocks that extend along the main road and into farmland. South of town the land rises towards the mountains, and the map opens into fields and dry slopes.
The town grew beside Lambaesis, the base of the Roman Third Legion, Legio III Augusta, in North Africa. The remains of the military camp and the civilian town next to it, including the large praetorium, sit right beside the modern streets. Timgad, another major Roman site in the region, lies further to the east.
A Tazoult-Lambese map poster combines the everyday layout of the modern town with the open ground of the archaeological site. The print shows the ordinary streets of today alongside the space where one of Rome's key African garrisons once stood, which gives it real historical depth.

Straight modern streets
The town's own layout is regular and practical, with straight roads and rectangular blocks spreading out from the main route to Batna.
Aurès foothills
South of the town the ground rises into the Aurès mountains, and a wider frame shows the change from farmland to high, open terrain.
