Tirūrangādi Map Poster & Print
Tirūrangādi lies in Malappuram district in northern Kerala, a short distance inland from the Arabian Sea coast. On the map the town is less a single grid than a series of lanes and settlements woven through palm groves and paddy land. The Kadalundi river and its tributaries shape the low ground.
The town has a significant place in the history of Malabar. It was one of the centres of the 1921 Malabar rebellion, and nearby Mamburam is known for a much-visited shrine associated with Sayyid Alavi Thangal. These layers of history still mark the town's identity.
A Tirūrangādi map poster shows the typical Kerala pattern of dense, meandering roads that follow the land rather than an imposed plan. Water and greenery break up the built area. In black and white the result is intricate and organic, a fitting portrait of a town where houses, rivers and trees are closely intertwined.

Winding lanes
Instead of a grid, the roads bend around plots, palm groves and water, creating a dense, irregular web typical of Malabar.
Mamburam area
The riverside area of Mamburam near the town is known for its historic shrine, part of the cluster of settlements shown on the map.
