Tromsø Map Poster & Print
Tromsø sits mostly on the island of Tromsøya, in a narrow sound between larger islands and the mainland in northern Norway, well above the Arctic Circle. From above, the island is long and narrow. The compact centre is on its eastern shore, the airport is on the west side, and the middle is wooded. A high bridge and road tunnels connect it to the mainland and to Kvaløya to the west.
Across the sound, in Tromsdalen, stands the Arctic Cathedral with its distinctive triangular profile. A cable car climbs the mountain above it to a viewpoint over the city. Tromsø is home to the world's northernmost university, UiT The Arctic University of Norway, and is known for the northern lights in winter and the midnight sun in summer.
A Tromsø map poster emphasises water. The shorelines of the island and the mainland dominate the design, the sound runs through the middle, and bridge and tunnel lines tie everything together. The streets are concentrated on narrow strips of land. The map shows a city shaped by fjords, sounds and mountains more than by any plan.

Tromsø Bridge
The long, high bridge crosses the sound to the mainland and the Arctic Cathedral. It forms a strong line across open water.
Mountain shores
Steep mountains rise straight from the water on the mainland and nearby islands. Settlement clings to narrow strips of coast below them.

Tromsø is a natural choice for people who studied at UiT, for those who have chased the northern lights, and for anyone who loves Arctic landscapes. The dramatic outlines of island, sound and coast make a striking poster, especially in the Noir or Blueprint styles.
Add a title and subtitle, perhaps the date of your first aurora, and set the coordinates. Choose from Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Download the HD files for $9, or order a matte print shipped from a partner in more than 30 countries.
