Ridgetop town
Damphu's streets stretch along the crest of a ridge, so the built-up area reads as a narrow band rather than a round cluster, a typical form for Bhutanese hill towns.

Tsirang Map Poster & Print
Tsirang is a district in south-central Bhutan, and its administrative town, Damphu, sits on a ridge among hills that are noticeably softer than the high Himalaya to the north. From above, the settlement is a short line of streets along the ridgetop, with roads zigzagging down the slopes to scattered farms and villages. The overall shape is linear, following the high ground.
The district is known for its relatively mild climate and gentle terrain, which make it one of Bhutan's farming areas, with oranges, cardamom and vegetables grown on terraced hillsides. The Punatsangchhu river system runs through the wider region, and deep valleys cut the land into a sequence of ridges, each carrying its own road and cluster of houses.
A Tsirang map poster shows how mountain geography organises life in Bhutan. The road network is sparse but expressive, full of hairpins and long traverses, and the few straight lines belong to the town itself. It makes a spare, elegant image, mostly open space crossed by threads of road, with the district town as a small, concentrated mark on the ridge.

Switchback roads
Roads descend to the valleys in tight zigzags, and on the poster these hairpins become the most striking graphic element, like stitches across the slope.
Terraced farmland
The gentler slopes of the district are worked as terraces and orchards, which shows as a fine scatter of lanes and settlements between the main roads.
