Housing districts laid out as separate units give the map a modular look, each cluster of blocks arranged around its own green courtyards and paths.

Tychy Map Poster
Tychy is one of Poland's clearest examples of a planned town. Built largely from the 1950s onward as a new city for the Upper Silesian industrial region, it was organised into housing estates designated by letters of the alphabet. From above, these estates appear as distinct clusters of apartment blocks separated by green space and wide roads.
The older town and the Tyskie brewery, whose history reaches back centuries, sit alongside the modern districts. To the south, Paprocany Lake and large stretches of forest give the city an unusual amount of green for a Silesian industrial centre, and they are popular with residents for walking and cycling.
A Tychy map poster shows a city designed on paper and built almost as drawn: repeating estates, long straight avenues and a southern edge of water and woods. It is a satisfying map for anyone interested in urban planning.

Paprocany Lake
A large lake on the southern edge of the city adds a smooth, irregular shape of open water, framed by forest and footpaths along its shore.
Planned avenues
Wide, straight roads connect the estates and lead north toward the Katowice area, forming a clear framework that ties the whole town together.

Tychy's residents often feel strongly about their particular estate, and this map lets them see it in the context of the whole planned city. The modular pattern looks crisp and modern on a wall.
You can add an estate name, a date or coordinates to the title and subtitle, and choose from Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Blueprint suits the town's planned origins.
