Jungnangcheon stream
The stream runs the length of the valley and on south into Seoul. Its line, flanked by paths and roads, forms the spine of the map.

Uijeongbu-si Map Poster & Print
Uijeongbu-si fills a narrow valley just north of Seoul, and its shape on a map is unmistakable: a long band of dense streets squeezed between mountain massifs. Dobongsan and Suraksan rise to the south-west and south-east, and the Jungnangcheon stream runs down the middle of the valley toward the capital. Apartment blocks, rail lines and main roads all follow the same north–south direction.
The city has long been a gateway on the route north from Seoul, and for decades it hosted large United States military installations. That history is tied to budae-jjigae, the army stew made with ham and sausages, which many people associate with Uijeongbu and which still has its own street of restaurants in the city. Subway Line 1 connects it directly to central Seoul.
A Uijeongbu-si map poster shows a city defined by its mountains. The dense urban core runs like a river of streets between two large empty areas of forested slope, and the stream and railway draw parallel lines along it. In black and white, the contrast between the crowded valley and the quiet peaks is striking.

Mountain frame
Dobongsan and Suraksan border the city to the south, leaving wide forested areas that appear as calm open space around the dense valley.
Valley corridor
Rail lines, expressways and main avenues all run north to south, giving the city a strong directional pattern that is easy to recognise.

Uijeongbu-si is a map for people who commuted down the valley into Seoul, grew up among its apartment blocks, or served there. The mountains make it recognisable at a glance.
Add a title, a subtitle with a date or unit, and the coordinates line, and choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Noir makes the valley stand out sharply against the mountains.
