From above, Una has a close-knit centre of narrow streets and small blocks, surrounded by newer neighbourhoods laid out more loosely. Roads lead out toward the coast and neighbouring towns, and the land around is mostly farmland. The sea is not far to the south, and the map hints at the coastal plain that stretches toward it.
Una is in the Gir Somnath district of Gujarat, on the Saurashtra peninsula. It is a local market and service centre for the surrounding area, which is mainly agricultural. The town lies close to Diu, and the Gir forest, home of the Asiatic lion, is inland to the north.
