Road junction centre
The town grew around the meeting of regional roads, and its densest streets gather where these routes cross before thinning into houses and fields.

Ūttangarai Map Poster & Print
Ūttangarai is a town in Krishnagiri district in northern Tamil Nadu, serving as the centre of a largely agricultural area. On a map it appears as a compact core of streets around the main road junction, with irrigated fields, tanks and scattered villages spreading out in every direction.
The landscape of this part of Tamil Nadu is marked by granite outcrops and low hills rising out of the plain, so the roads leaving town bend around them on their way to neighbouring towns. Water tanks and small reservoirs show up clearly as irregular shapes among the fields.
An Ūttangarai map poster is a study of a working rural town: a dense centre, a few long highways and the fine lines of village roads between farms. Its appeal lies in that simplicity, a place shown as it relates to the land around it rather than to famous monuments.

Irrigation tanks
Tanks and small reservoirs around the town appear as soft-edged shapes among the farmland, a characteristic feature of the Tamil Nadu countryside seen from above.
Hills and outcrops
Rocky hills and granite outcrops break up the surrounding plain, pushing roads into gentle curves and giving the wider map some welcome relief.
