Wao is a municipality in Lanao del Sur, in the southern Philippines, near the border with Bukidnon. The town sits on upland terrain, and from above its centre forms a modest grid of streets, with roads leading outward through farmland toward villages and neighbouring towns. The surrounding land alternates between fields, plantations and wooded hills.
