Watamu Map Poster & Print
Watamu lies on the Kenyan coast in Kilifi County, on a small peninsula between the Indian Ocean and Mida Creek. The map is shaped by water on almost every side. The seaward coast curves in a series of sandy bays and rocky points, and inland, the creek spreads out into a wide, branching tidal inlet fringed with mangroves.
The ocean off Watamu is part of a protected marine park and reserve, known for coral reefs, sea turtles and clear water, and much of the coast here is protected. The village is small, with a loose network of sandy lanes linking homes, hotels and the beachfront.
Nearby, the ruins of Gede, an old Swahili town, lie in the forest. A Watamu map poster brings the calm bays, the creek's intricate channels and the small village between them into one quiet composition.

Reef-lined bays
The ocean coast curves in small bays between rocky points. The waters offshore are part of a protected marine area known for coral and turtles.
Village lanes
A loose network of narrow, sandy lanes connects homes and beach hotels. Its informal pattern keeps the village feeling small and open.

Watamu is often a place remembered from a trip: a dive on the reef, a sunset over Mida Creek. A map of it holds on to that, and suits a holiday home, a bedroom or a gift for a fellow traveller.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates, for example with the dates of your stay. Choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand; Sand suits the coast well. The HD files cost $9, and printed posters ship in 30+ countries.
