Road network
Unpaved roads and tracks radiate from the town towards villages and mining areas, forming the main structure of the map.

Watsa Map Poster & Print
Watsa is a town in Haut-Uele province, in the far northeast of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, close to the borders with South Sudan and Uganda. The surrounding land is rolling and green, with forest, streams and small farms. On the map, the town appears as a loose network of roads rather than a tight grid.
The district is known for gold. The Kibali gold mine, one of the largest in Africa, is in Watsa territory, and mining has shaped roads and settlement across the area. Alongside the large industrial operation, artisanal digging has long been part of local life.
A Watsa map poster shows a place defined by roads, tracks and the rivers that cross the hills. The lines are irregular and follow the landscape rather than a plan. In a minimalist style, this becomes an organic pattern, very different from the rigid layouts of planned towns.

River valleys
Streams wind through the hilly terrain around Watsa, and their curving lines give the print movement and a sense of the land's shape.
Loose settlement
Houses and compounds spread along the roads rather than clustering tightly, so the town fades gradually into the surrounding countryside.

The map is for people with a real link to Watsa: residents, people who have worked in the mining industry, aid workers and family members elsewhere. It shows a remote town clearly and calmly, at a scale you can recognise.
Add a title, subtitle or date, change the coordinates line, and choose Classic black and white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Sand gives the irregular lines a warm, earthy look.
