Edge of the hills
The dense street pattern stops abruptly where the terrain rises. The empty space of the Javadi slopes gives the poster a strong, uneven border.

Alangāyam Map Poster & Print
Alangāyam lies in the north of Tamil Nadu, in the country between Vaniyambadi and the Javadi Hills. On a map the town marks a threshold. To one side are the flatter farmlands of the Palar basin, laced with roads and small villages. To the other, the streets give way to the winding tracks and empty spaces of forested high ground.
The town itself is modest in scale: a main road lined with shops, side streets running off it, and residential blocks that loosen toward the edges. Tanks and seasonal water bodies appear as irregular shapes in the surrounding land, a familiar feature of the Tamil countryside where rainwater has long been stored for dry months.
The Javadi Hills nearby are home to the Vainu Bappu Observatory at Kavalur, one of India's important optical astronomy sites, chosen partly for its dark skies. An Alangāyam map poster shows the ground below those skies, a small town where the plain ends and the hills begin.

Irrigation tanks
Rain-fed tanks around the town show as rounded open shapes among the fields, breaking up the line work and marking the rural setting.
Main road spine
One main road carries most of the town's activity, and shorter streets branch from it in a simple, legible pattern.

This one suits anyone with roots in the Vellore and Tirupattur area, or anyone with a feel for the quiet towns at the edge of the hills. It works as a personal map rather than a famous skyline, which is often the point.
