Bünde Map Poster & Print
Bünde lies in the Herford district of East Westphalia, in the gently rolling country between the Wiehen Hills and the Teutoburg Forest. The small river Else flows through the town, and its valley forms a green strip across the map. The historic centre lies on one side, and later residential districts spread over the low hills around it.
For much of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries Bünde was a centre of the German cigar industry, and it is still known as a cigar town. The German Tobacco and Cigar Museum in the old centre tells that story. Many former villages now belong to the municipality, so the map mixes an urban core with scattered settlements, farmland and woodland.
A Bünde map poster shows a typical but distinctive small German town. It has a compact old core around its church, a railway junction, the meandering Else and a patchwork of neighbourhoods reaching out toward the fields. In black and white, the balance of built-up areas and open land creates a calm, even composition.

Historic centre
The old town is a compact cluster of streets around the main church and market area. It is denser than the surrounding districts and easy to spot on the map.
Surrounding villages
Outlying districts appear as separate clusters of streets linked by country roads, with fields and small woods filling the spaces in between.
