The Danube frontier
The river is wide here and forms the border between Romania and Bulgaria. Its long, open surface anchors the whole composition.

Calafat Map Poster & Print
Calafat lies in Dolj County in southwestern Romania, on the left bank of the Danube, directly opposite the Bulgarian city of Vidin. On a map, the river is the main event. It is a broad band of water that fills a large part of the frame, with the town set along its northern edge and farmland spreading inland across the Wallachian plain.
Since 2013, the Calafat–Vidin bridge has linked the two countries here. Before it opened, crossing meant taking a ferry. The bridge appears on the map as a thin line crossing the river, with its approach roads curving away on both banks. Inside the town, the streets form a loose grid that runs back from the waterfront.
A Calafat map poster shows a border drawn by water. The Danube's islands and sandbars, the straight line of the bridge and the edge of Vidin on the far bank all fit into one composition. It is an unusual cross-border view for a town of this size.

Calafat–Vidin bridge
Opened in 2013, the bridge carries road and rail across the Danube. On the poster it shows as a clean diagonal between two countries.
Riverside grid
The town's streets rise from the waterfront in fairly regular blocks and give way to open fields on the plain inland.

དོན་དག་ཡོད་པའི་ས་ཁྲ།
Calafat means something to people who crossed the Danube here, worked along the river or have family on either bank. A map that shows both shores and the bridge between them works well as a reminder of a place defined by crossing.
Every poster can carry a personal title, a subtitle such as a date and a coordinates line. It comes in five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Noir and Blueprint make the river especially strong.
