Canicattì Map Poster & Print
Canicattì lies in the hilly interior of Sicily, in the province of Agrigento. From above, the old centre is a dense, irregular web of narrow streets that follow the terrain. Around it, more regular modern districts extend outward, and the town soon gives way to farmland.
The countryside around Canicattì is famous for its table grapes, especially the Uva Italia variety, which carries a protected designation named after the area. Vineyards and grape pergolas cover the surrounding hills in dense patterns of rows. A Canicattì map poster can show the town surrounded by this carefully cultivated land.
In Italian, the town's name is also used in a well-known expression for somewhere far off and provincial. On the map, though, Canicattì is simply a clear, compact hill town, with roads leading out toward Agrigento and Caltanissetta and a rolling rural landscape all around.
