Dharamsala Map Poster & Print
Dharamsala lies in Himachal Pradesh on the southern flank of the Dhauladhar range, overlooking the Kangra valley. The town is divided by altitude. Lower Dharamsala holds the markets and government offices, while the upper settlements, including McLeod Ganj, sit hundreds of metres higher on the ridge. On a map, the roads between them twist in long switchbacks, and streets follow ridges and slopes instead of a grid.
McLeod Ganj is home to the Dalai Lama and has been the seat of the Tibetan government in exile since 1960. The Tsuglagkhang temple complex, monasteries and Tibetan institutions give the upper town its character. Lower down, a cricket stadium set against the mountains has hosted international matches. In 2017 Dharamsala was also named the winter capital of Himachal Pradesh.
A Dharamsala map poster makes the mountain setting visible even without shading. Zigzag roads, clusters of buildings on spurs and ridges, and empty stretches of forest and steep ground tell the story of a town built on a slope. It suits travellers, students of Buddhism, trekkers who set out from here and families from the Kangra region.

McLeod Ganj
The upper settlement forms a small, dense knot of lanes on the ridge, gathered around the Tsuglagkhang complex and the main square.
Ridge settlements
Clusters of buildings sit on spurs and terraces separated by forest and steep ground. They scatter the map with distinct islands of streets.

དོན་དག་ཡོད་པའི་ས་ཁྲ།
Many people come to Dharamsala for a few days and stay for months, for study, retreat or the mountains. A map of its winding roads marks that time in a way a photograph of the peaks cannot, and it suits a calm, uncluttered room.
Add your own title, a subtitle with a retreat date or a phrase, and the coordinates line. Choose from five styles; Paper and Sand give a softer look. The $9 digital files come in six sizes, and printed posters ship from partners in more than 30 countries.
